New to The Society?

Every member begins with The Initiation — a complimentary introduction to our equipment, instructors, and method before joining group classes.

Beginning a practice should feel deliberate, not daunting. Here is how to begin yours.

Doors open here.

Every member begins with The Initiation — beginner or seasoned practitioner. This is where we meet your body, and where you meet our equipment, our instructors, and our way of working.

Experience travels with you. What's new is us. Our reformers may sit differently than the ones you know. Our Tower work is often unfamiliar even to those with years on the reformer. Our cueing and our standards are ours alone — worth knowing before you take your first class.

Until your Initiation is complete, this is the only session available to you. After — the full schedule is yours.

The Society is built on craft. Yours starts here.

On Beginning

Pilates carries a reputation — mysterious, exclusive, intimidating. None of that needs to be true. The method is, at its heart, accessible: a study of breath, alignment, and control that adapts to virtually every body. What it requires is not flexibility or fitness. Only the willingness to begin.

Three steps. Then the practice.

Beginning at The Pilates Society is intentionally structured. Every member follows the same path so that your first class feels confident, informed, and supported.

01. The Initiation

A complimentary one-on-one session before your first class. The apparatus, the language of the method, the way we teach. Yours, on us.

02. The Debut

The reformer, taught from the foundation up. Build your base here.

03. Your Practice

Once the foundation is in place, the rest of the menu opens. Classical, fusion, strength, recovery — leveled and progressive, so the work grows as you do.

What to Expect

A few practical details before your first visit. Nothing complicated — just a few things that will help your first session feel comfortable and seamless.

  • Arrive fifteen minutes ahead of your first class.
  • Wear fitted, comfortable attire. Loose clothing and the apparatus do not get along.
  • Grip socks are required. Bring your own or purchase a pair at the studio.
  • Hydrate. Avoid heavy meals immediately before.
  • Inform your instructor of any injuries, surgeries, or anything your body is negotiating.
  • Ask questions. There are no foolish ones.
